Bespoke clothes

If you have an idea for a garment, we can design and make it to your measurements, style, and intended use—custom clothing shaped around how you want the piece to look and feel. Clients come to us for custom clothes when a ready-made option will not give the proportion, fabric, or detail they need.

Our Pimlico atelier offers open-ended bespoke clothing, from dresses, skirts, and blouses to occasion pieces, stage costumes, and one-off designs that are difficult to source ready-made. We begin with your concept, fabric preferences, and fit priorities, then shape pattern and construction through fittings so proportion, movement, and finish feel personal, practical, and consistent.

Custom clothing made to measure

Custom clothing at Altbes means a garment planned around your brief rather than altered from a standard size run. We discuss silhouette, fabric, and how you will wear the piece, then build to your measurements so the fit and finish feel intentional from the first fitting onwards. Clothing custom made this way stays focused on purpose: day wear, occasion, stage, or a one-off design that simply does not exist off the peg.

From brief to fittings

Most commissions start with a conversation in the atelier about idea, use, and fabric. We take measurements, develop the pattern, and refine the piece through fittings so line and balance settle before final finishing. You bring reference images or a sketch when you have them; we work from a clear verbal brief when you do not.

This page is for the wider custom and bespoke offer. It is not a bridal page and it is not a suit page: wedding gowns sit on our wedding service, and structured suiting has its own route below.

Bespoke dress, made to measure

Whether you need a bespoke dress or another dress custom made to measure, we refine each brief around purpose, silhouette, and fabric so the final piece feels distinctly yours. The same approach applies to skirts, blouses, occasion pieces, stage costumes, and one-off designs when ready-made options fall short.

Suiting has its own service on our professional suit tailoring page, while this page covers the wider custom and bespoke offer for almost anything else. Bridal and wedding gown work is handled on our wedding dress alterations page. Guide prices appear on our pricing page. When you are ready, book an appointment, or call us, write to us, or come in, and we will help you on-site.
